IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:

1. If you are a Sheriff’s Office employee; do NOT complete this application. Contact your supervisor or HR Representative.

2. If you were hired within the past 3 months (90 Days), do NOT complete this online application because you will cause the County to pay twice for your background check! The County still considers you a NEW HIRE and can evaluate your COP eligibility by reviewing the background checks conducted and paid for before you were hired. 3. Please be advised that the County pays money to submit each online COP application and it is only appropriate for Established Employees that have worked for us for longer than 3 months (90 Days). If you are an Established Employee and have lost your COP or are not sure of the expiration date, Do NOT complete this online application! Email Human Resources at HR-COP@mecknc.gov.
